Tanker Training - Tanker at sea

Course Description

3-day basic course for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations. Two days of theoretical training takes place at Aboa Mare in Turku, Finland or online and one day of practical firefighting training takes place at Meriturva Maritime Safety Training Centre in Upinniemi, Finland. The course is intended for officers, ratings deck and engine crew working on tanker vessels. This course covers the requirements set by STCW and IMO Model Course 1.01.

Course Description

3-day advanced course for chemical tanker cargo operations. Three days of theoretical training takes place at Aboa Mare in Turku, Finland. The course is intended for deck officers and engineers in charge of loading, discharging and handling of cargo on board chemical tankers. This course covers the requirements set by STCW and IMO Model Course 1.03.

Course Description

3-day Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations. The three-day theoretical training takes place at Aboa Mare in Turku, Finland or online. The course is intended for officers and ratings assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment on oil tankers. The course is also intended for land-based personnel looking to gain new safety knowledge in the carriage and handling of oil cargoes. This course covers the requirements set by STCW and IMO Model Course 1.02.

At Aboa Mare Maritime Academy and Training Center, we use the latest state-of-the-art simulator equipment and pedagogical tools to provide an enhanced maritime training experience in a simulated environment, promoting teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making and confidence. We are specialized on simulation, ice navigation (Polar Code and azimuthing propulsion courses in ice) and IGF Code courses for LNG fueled ships. Aboa Mare’s first-rate simulators are also used for research, innovation, and development projects.
