Watchkeeping Engineer

As a watchkeeping engineer you work as a second engineer on a merchant vessel in international traffic or as the chief of the engine department on a smaller vessel. After completing the vocational qualification on first degree, you can apply to a university of applied sciences and continue your studies up to the degree of a marine engineer. Watchkeeping engineer is an international qualification and it meets the STCW requirements (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping 1995).
