Aboa Mare maritime simulation center offers training in safety at sea and environmental sustainable development issues related to seafaring.
We focus on providing simulator-based training for maritime students, shipping companies, authorities such as pilots and sea rescuers as well as for leisure boating.
Our goals with the training are:
- to give skills in maneuvering, shiphandling and towing, including escort-towing
- to extend users’ general knowledge, and to give expert training, in bridge and engine-room equipment
- to strengthen pilots’ knowledge on fairways
- to support and train authorities and volunteers in creating and upholding organization specific common routines in sea rescue and environmental protection and to provide training in the connected instruments
In the simulations we use different shipmodels, such as large cruise ships, tankers and smaller archipelago ferries.
The simulations are conducted in Finnish coastal areas, lakes as well as the most heavily trafficked routes world wide.
